SNA Forces have spoken with the Bariire Community at Mosque hours

  Officers of the Somali National Army Forces spoke to hundreds of people at the Great Mosque in Barire, today after Friday prayers. The commander of the 18th Bataillon of the Somali Amry, Lieutenant General Liban Yusuf Garre and other officials have informed the people on the ongoing uprising to expel the terrorist group from the country. The officials also said that the Armed Forces are ready to defend the nation from the terrorist group at a moment’s notice. Commander Liban Yusuf Garre and the officers who accompanied him promised the local community and the entire Somali nation that their honor and existence will be protected. On the other hand, the officials who spoke to the community today at the Great Mosque of Barire promised that the Army and the Government will work together. The National Army in Barire area has repaired the bridge in the area which was destroyed by the insurgents.

Mogadishu’s police commissioner killed in a roadside explosion

  Mogadishu's Police Commissioner, Farhan Mohamoud Adan 'Qarole', was killed in a roadside bomb attack near Bal'ad district, 35km north of Mogadishu, on Friday. There are expected to be other casualties. Farhan Qarole was the ex-commander of the  Haramacad forces and took over as the Banadir regional police chief from Sadak Omar Hassan 'Sadak John'  in April 2021. Qarole survived at least two previous assassination attempts while Banadir's police chief, including an attack  in July 2021  that killed nine people and a recent attack days before the presidential election  in May  that killed eight.

Minister of Transport meets Secretary General of ICAO

  Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Fardowso Osman Igal had a special meeting with the Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar and the Head of the East and Southern Africa Organization, Mr. Barry Kashambo in Canada. The ICAO leadership has praised the accomplishments of Somalia and reaffirmed their dedication to support the development of Somalia and realise our vision.

PM Hamza launched the National Campaign for the Role of Youth in the Liberation and Peace

  The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, launched the National Campaign for the Role of Youth in Liberation and Peace, an event organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which is in charge of directing, organizing, and  harnessing the resilience of Somali youth. The theme of this plan is "Let the youth break the wall of fear" because they are a powerful force that if used well can lead to progress in the elimination of the enemy.

The PM of Somalia takes part in a virtual meeting

The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, HE Hamza Abdi Barre took part in an online Reception for the 73rd China National Day hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Somalia. Several other guests including foreign ambassadors in Mogadishu participated in the virtually meeting. “ Somalia  will embrace a promising future and there will be more success stories for us to make and tell in China Somalia relations and cooperation,” embassy tweets.

Traditional elder killed in Hiiraan region

A traditional elder killed in the Hiiraan region on Thursday during intense fighting between government forces and Al-Shabab. Elmi Hagar Gure, a well-known Hawadle clan elder from Beledweyne, was killed near the El Qohle village 40km east of Muqakoori district, Hiiraan. According to reports, Al-Shabab fighters launched a dawn raid on a base recently captured by government forces. Gure was part of a locally-organized militia known as Macawisley, fighting alongside government troops against Al-Shabab. Somali PM Hamza Abdi Barre sent his condolences to Elmi Gure's family, praising him as a leader and martyr. "I mourn the righteous death of Nabadon Ilmi Hagar Gure, who was killed today in a battle on the front lines of the war in the El Qohle area. I pray to Allah to shower the martyed Elmi with His blessings," Barre said in a statement on his Facebook page.   After waiting and facing severe droughts that has affected the people and livestock in many different regions of Somalia, there has been rains last night and in the early hours of Thursday in some parts of Mudug and Nugal regions in the midst of the severe drought which affected millions of people and their livestock.

2 people died and others hospitalised in El-jiqow village

Two people died and others were hospitalised after drinking water from a well that had been poisoned by Al-Shabab terrorists in El-Jiqow village under Mahas district, on Thursday, Mumin Mohamed, Mahas  district commissioner told Somali National Television. The victims were identified as Saney Abiikar Adan and Mohamed Uul Nor. At the same time, five others also fell ill from the contaminated water and were treated at the Mahaas district hospital. The water well in El Jiqow, which Al-Shabab blew up in mid of September, has been repaired by residents with the federal government's support. One of the residents accused Al-Shabab militants of poisoning the water well while the residents were not around the well area.  Earlier this month, the Al-Shabab militants killed at least 22 civilians after they attacked a convoy carrying food to Mahas district in Hiiraan. Al-Sbabab member surrenders to SNA

  A member of the Al-Shabab terrorist group called Abdullahi Ali Hussein (Ali Qudaari)  surrendered to Somali National Army (SNA) in Galmudug regional state. Ali Qudaari says he was forcefully  recruited by the terrorist group during his childhood in Bacaadwayne village of Mudug province. SNA command in the region told the media that they are have welcoming several militants defecting from the insurgents in recent weeks. “The ongoing nationwide military offensive has put pressure on the terrorists, forcing them to flee from the hideouts,” a military sources told the media. So far in the operation, more than 40 areas were liberated, over 200 militants killed and up to 300 terrorists apprehended, pending for interrogation and trial process.

Minister of Public Works opens a meeting

  Minister of Public Works, Reconstruction & Housing of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Ismail Abdirahman Sheikh Bashir together with the Deputy Minister Mr. Mohamed Ali Mohamud & the State Minister of the Ministry Mr. Bashir Mohamed Jama (Region) opened the meeting of the Ministry of Public Works. The meeting which was attended by the Director Generals, Departmental Directors, Consultants & project participants will last for two days. They will discuss during the meeting to increase the work of the Ministry, the plans for the Ministry, the review of the projects, those that have not been prepared as intended, the challenges and how to overcome them.

President Hassan reached Ethiopia on an official visit

  A delegation led by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for a two-day official visit. President Mohamud and his delegation were received at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport by the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed, and his Cabinet members. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed thanked the Somali President for accepting his invitation. Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his delegation held bilateral talks with the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed and his Cabinet members. Minister of Justice opens a meeting in Mogadishu

Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Hassan Macalin Mohamud, opened a meeting and spoke about the importance of cooperation among the Ministries of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Federal Government and the Member States. The meeting focused on the cooperation of Ministries of Justice and Constitution of the Federal Government and the Member State of Somalia, which was on hold since the election days. The meeting was attended by State Minister of the Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Mumino Sheikh Omar, Ministers of Justice oft he Member States, a representative of the UNDP organisation, Madam Jocelyn Mason and members from the United Nations in Somalia.

Minister of Defence and Gen. Odewa arrive in recently liberated area

  Minister of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Abdikadir Mohamed Nur and the Commander of the Armed Forces, General Odawaa Yusuf Rage, today arrived in the areas under Bahdo in Galgaduud region, which were recently liberated from Al-Shabaab terrorists. The Minister and the Commander went to those areas with Deputy Minister of Information Abdirahman Al-Adalah, MP Abdisabir Shuriye, Commander Hassan Jamici and other officials, and they spoke to the national and local forces today in the area of ​​Disaq-dhurufle in Galgaduud region.

Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation meets the UAE President of Aviation Authority

  The Minister of Transport and Aviation of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Fardowsa Osman Igal had a special sideline meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirate’s Aviation Authority, Sh. Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
