President Hassan reached Ethiopia on an official visit

A delegation led by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for a two-day official visit.

President Mohamud and his delegation were received at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport by the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed, and his Cabinet members.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed thanked the Somali President for accepting his invitation.

Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his delegation held bilateral talks with the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed and his Cabinet members.

The two leaders expressed their commitment to strengthening the relations between Somalia and Ethiopia, prioritizing the development and stability of the Horn of Africa region, and continuing fruitful cooperation in various fields between the two neighbouring peoples.

President Mohamud highlighted the similarities in the two countries' circumstances, including drought and security, while outlining the Federal Republic of Somalia's vision of "Somalia at Peace with itself and the world."

Minister of Finance visits AfDB headquarters in Kenya

The Minister of Finance of the Government of Somalia, Dr. Elmi Mohamed Nur visited the headquarters of the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Nairobi, where he had a productive meeting with the heads of the Bank in East Africa, including Somalia. The discussion between the two sides was focused on the country’s financial reform program in which the Bank has played a major role and the continuous support it provides to Somalia. AfDB is an important partner in increasing the country’s income as it has built the most important centers in Mogadishu to collect the country’s taxes.

First Lady and First Deputy Speaker visit kitchen for Somali soldiers

The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Madam Sara Omar Hassan and the First Deputy Speaker of the Lower-House of the Somali Parliament, Mrs. Sadia Yasin Samatar visited kitchen established by the Somali women for making food for the Soldiers who are on the frontlines fighting the insurgents ti liberate their country. Madam Sahra said “the Somali women are ready to support the liberation of Al-Shabab terrorists from Somalia”. Mrs. Sadia said “we as Somali women are standing by our Somali men and Soldiers who put upon themselves to liberate Somalia and fight the insurgents”.

Minister of Defence and Gen. Odewa arrive in recently liberated area

Minister of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Abdikadir Mohamed Nur and the Commander of the Armed Forces, General Odawaa Yusuf Rage, today arrived in the areas under Bahdo in Galgaduud region, which were recently liberated from Al-Shabaab terrorists. The Minister and the Commander went to those areas with Deputy Minister of Information Abdirahman Al-Adalah, MP Abdisabir Shuriye, Commander Hassan Jamici and other officials, and they spoke to the national and local forces today in the area of Disaq-dhurufle in Galgaduud region.
