Somali National Army conducts operations in southern Mudug region


 The Somali National Army with the help of the Galmudug forces and the local forces continue to conduct operations in the southern Mudug region to eradicate the Al-Shabaab terrorists.

The army has caused enormous damage to the terrorist militants in the past few days as they killed, took off arms and vehicles and destroyed the Al-Shabaab militia hideouts in Mudug region.

The Somali National Army yesterday killed 32 Al-Shabaab militants and injured others after conducting a planned operation against terrorists’ hideout at Qaycad area in Mudug region.

  Mogadishu's Police Commissioner, Farhan Mohamoud Adan 'Qarole', was killed in a roadside bomb attack near Bal'ad district, 35km north of Mogadishu, on Friday. Farhan Qarole was the ex-commander of the  Haramacad forces and took over as the Banadir regional police chief from Sadak Omar Hassan 'Sadak John'  in April 2021. Al-Sbabab member surrenders to SNA

  A member of the Al-Shabab terrorist group called Abdullahi Ali Hussein (Ali Qudaari)  surrendered to Somali National Army (SNA) in Galmudug regional state. Ali Qudaari says he was forcefully  recruited by the terrorist group during his childhood in Bacaadwayne village of Mudug province. SNA command in the region told the media that they are have welcoming several militants defecting from the insurgents in recent weeks. “The ongoing nationwide military offensive has put pressure on the terrorists, forcing them to flee from the hideouts,” a military sources told the media. So far in the operation, more than 40 areas were liberated, over 200 militants killed and up to 300 terrorists apprehended, pending for interrogation and trial process.
